Inspiration for the print ‘Collidoskope’:

Collidoskope came about after years of being fascinated by the art of collage as well as the brilliant invention that is the kaleidoscope. The print started developing when a burst of inspiration entered in the form of Lee Krasner’s exhibition at the London Barbican gallery. Her pioneering, breathtaking work and iconic strength and resolve was palpable. As a result a burst of creativity entered the studio, and in turn the print was born.

Our own interpretation of collage feels like a culmination of our first four prints. Shangri La, Rare Bird, Deadly Bloom and Fatal Attraction. We have taken apart all their elements, broken them up, played with scale and placement, and put it all back together in a collage – kaleidoscope style composition. It is playful, strong, rich and opulent. Furthermore it is an homage to all female artists who dared and dare to oppose their status quo.

We use a lot of the same colours in all our china products, making it easier for you to mix and match!
